Menu items - how to create new

  • Go to Page Display-->Page Class and add class “ interior”; make sure to hit space before typing

  • Will there be a right-hand column? If yes, do nothing. If no, add class “no-right”

  • If you do not want this menu item to be visible in the navigation (aka a hidden menu item), go to Link Type-->Display in Menu-->No

  • Place underneath the correct “parent item” (option on right). This will help determine the URL.
  • Whatever the alias is of this new menu item will be the end of your URL, for example “spring-2020.” So let’s say you decide it should go Undergraduate Programs-->Advising-->Spring 2020, then your URL would be /undergraduate/advising/spring-2020
  • Last step is to go to the modules and find the left-hand menu for this section and add your new page
    • Use the search tools to sort by position “left”
    • Find the one titled “undergraduate programs” (if that is where this menu item ends up)
    • Under the “menu assignment” tab, click on your newly created menu item
