Microsoft Visio Installation

  • Chemical Engineering students have access to Microsoft software via a program the department participates in called Microsoft Azure DevTools for Teaching

  • Available for both UT owned and personally owned computers 

  • Visio 2016, 2019, and 2021 are available

 

  1. Navigate to https://azureforeducation.microsoft.com/devtools and click “Sign In”

  2. At the Sign In screen, enter your email address in this specific format:  <eid>@eid.austin.utexas.edu

 

3. You should then be redirected to a UT logon page, where you will logon with your EID

 

 

 

4. Once you are logged on, click Software on the left sidebar, and type visio in the search field

 

 

 

 

5. Click on the version of Visio you want to install, and you should see the activation key and download on the right side of the window

 

  1. Open File Explorer and navigate to the location where you downloaded the Visio file, which ends with a .iso file extention. The default download folder is “Downloads”, so it’s likely there.

 

  1. Right-click the “en_visio…” iso file and click “Mount” at the top of the menu list.

  2. If you see security warning pop-up, just click “open.”

  3. A new window will open showing the Visio installation files. Click setup.exe to install Visio.
