Call for Participation: CII 2026 Academic Showcase
(Poster Session Opportunity)
The Funded Studies Academic Committee invites submissions for the 2026 CII Annual Conference Academic Showcase, to be held July 20–23, 2026, at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel. This event will be part of a broader Industry Innovation Showcase, highlighting cutting-edge ideas and tools for the capital projects sector.
This showcase is an opportunity for researchers to present innovative work that extends beyond CII-funded projects and engage directly with industry leaders.
Who Should Apply?
We welcome applications from:
· Graduate students
· Postdoctoral researchers
· Early-career faculty (within 2 years of PhD completion)
Applicants should be conducting research relevant to capital projects, including but not limited to:
· Construction Engineering and Management
· Business
· Operations Research
What to Submit
· Each submission should include an abstract presenting an innovation applicable to the capital projects industry (e.g., new practices, models, processes, or tools).
· Research must be independent of CII funding.
· Priority will be given to research with tangible results (as opposed to research in early stages)
· Only one submission per presenter is allowed (presenters may be listed as co-authors on other submissions).
· Software or hardware demos are not permitted.

Benefits/Incentives
· Selected posters will be featured on the CII website.
· A panel will evaluate submissions and present the Best Poster Award at the conference.
· CII will cover one presenter’s registration for each selected submission, including access to all conference events.

POSTER SESSION GENERAL INFORMATION
The information below provides on-site details for those whose abstracts are selected:
The author will use one or two 30”x40” foam poster board(s) provided by CII.
The poster(s) will be displayed on easels and can be either horizontal or vertical.
The top of each poster is the title area, which includes the Research title, Author, Faculty/Supervisor, and University.
Each poster display will have a chair; however, no tables will be provided.
An introduction of three to five sentences should be placed in the top left of the poster under the title area. The bottom right section of the poster should present the conclusions.
The remaining space containing methods and results shall include a minimum of two graphics for one poster and a minimum of five graphics for two posters.
Adhesive materials, foam boards, and a workspace will be available for assembling posters in the CII staff workroom at the hotel.
