Support for Issues, Concerns and Formal Complaints to TEA

The University of Texas at Austin Educator Preparation Services is here to support you.

As a teacher preparation candidate in an intern or clinical teaching placement, you are to first work with your Cooperating Teacher or Host Teacher to resolve any classroom experience issues or concerns.  If a solution cannot be found, reach out to your Field Supervisor.  Field Supervisors are experienced professionals, and their job is to support your growth.  If further discussions are needed to resolve the issue, the Field Supervisor can inform the Cohort Coordinator who will help work toward a solution. There are others in the chain of support to assist you as well, such as the Director of Educator Preparation Services and Associate Dean of Academic Affairs.  Please email fieldexp@austin.utexas.edu for assistance. This is a team, ready to support you.

Our hope is that UT-Austin Educator Preparation Services can help to address and resolve any issues or complaints that may arise. However, in the event you feel you need additional support by filing a formal written complaint with the Texas Education Agency (TEA), per 19 TAC 228.123(b), a formal written program complaint can be submitted to TEA here.
