UT Austin Cooperating Teacher Mentor Training

Texas requires cooperating teachers to complete mentor training for each new student teacher or resident placement. This training must be completed within 12 weeks before, or no later than 2 weeks after, the placement begins.

New cooperating teachers complete a 90 minute online initial mentor training. Cooperating teachers who have completed the full 90-minute training within the past 3 years are eligible to request to take a shorter 20-minute renewal version of the training.
