Automation
Publications from quantitative data analysis typically have tables and graphs. Automation is about writing scripts to create these tables and graphs using scripts rather than with human intervention. Automating your analysis will very likely require that you invest substantial time into learning new tools. The promise of automation is that you will a) be able to describe the exact process that created the table or graph and b) reproduce a modified table or graph relatively easily.Â
Some stata tools for automation of the production of tables include:
putexcel
tab
estout
outreg
You might also want to automate the production of descriptions of your data and sample using markdown language.
