Logging Into Your New Mac and Using Your Administrative Account

You will log in to your computer using your University EID and EID Password. You will only use your Administrative account to make changes to your laptop but per the new security rules from Main Campus, users can no longer stay logged in to an administrative account for every day use due to security concerns. 

Installing software:

Only install known safe programs. If prompted for an Administrator account use the following.

Username: TXLAW

Password:  your password for your local administrative account is located at the following web address and is accessible on any mobile or desktop device through the browser.

Box Sync: Users are encouraged use Box and save their files to the Box Sync folder so that they are automatically backed up and synchronized with all their devices that use Box Sync. In the event of catastrophic failure of your machine, your files will be safely stored and accessible from another device via the browser.  Due to Macs not supporting VPN very well, this is the safest way to make sure you do not experience data loss.
