Russell Server Remote Setup for Windows

Ensure that you are connected to the Server VPN before attempting to login.

Remote Setup for Windows:

  1. From the Windows search bar, type Remote Desktop Connection.  Click on Remote Desktop Connection.

  1. Remote Desktop Connection windows open.  Click Show Options.

  1. For the computer name, type phyw-russell-p3.austin.utexas.edu. 

    1. Username: Enter Your EID

  1. Click Save As. Name the remote connection PRC Russell Server and save it to your desktop.

  1. Locate the PRC Russell Server icon and double-click.  Check the box: Don't ask me again for connections to this computer.  Click Connect.

  1. Type in your EID Password.  Click OK.

  1. A warning message appears. The certificate name will show PRC-CS-4710JK2. Check the box: Don't ask me again for connections to this computer.  Click Yes.

  1. Your remote desktop client will connect to the server.
