Team 3 - Final Prototype
The mechanism starts at stage 1. This is where the end effector picks up object 1. It then takes it to stage 2, where it drops it off for stamping and picks up object 2 which has already been stamped. It places object 2 at stage 3 where it is dropped off for packaging then returns at stage 1 to repeat the process. At each stage, there is a delay so that sufficient time is given to pick up and drop off objects.
Note: The object is not actually being picked and dropped as we do not have the electromagnet, our end effector, on the mechanism. Due to its weight at the end of a long moment arm, the motor kept stalling.
The above video shows our mechanism being driven continuously by just one 12V DC motor controlled at a constant speed using PID controls.
