In order to obtain card swipe access to the IRC, you must first become Level 1-certified.  Level 1 training typically is offered only during IRC Safety & Training Week (S&TW).  Read about how to register for the classes on the S&TW wiki page.  Users must attend a 1-hour class in the IRC BIC and pass a quiz immediately after the class. The training is composed of a safety tour of the IRC, a demonstration of how to use the most important safety features of the equipment, and an explanation of how to screen MRI research subjects.  A requirement of maintaining Level 1 certification is your subscription to the ircbicc-res e-mail list.  After attending the Level 1 safety training, you will be automatically subscribed to the ircbic-res list.  If you unsubscribe from this list, you will immediately lose access to the IRCBIC, and your Level 1 certification is revoked.
