Prepare written research proposal

Form dissertation committee in consultation with supervisor and set date and location for oral exam 2-3 months in advance

Give research proposal to committee at least 2 weeks prior to oral exam, for review

Prepare oral exam presentation

Submit Chemical Engineering Candidacy Examination Form electronically at least one week prior to the exam

No food allowed

Complete online application to candidacy on the Graduate School website

Register for -99R, and the next semester register for -99W (Beginning with the 2019-2020 school year, you will only need to register for *99W courses; the *99R will be retired)

Continue to register for -99W every semester, including the semester you graduate
