Overview

In advance of the migration of Office365 email services in October, we are migrating scan to email functionality on multi-function printers to the ITS Mail Relay service. This is a change in the infrastructure that sends your scans to email addresses. The email address your scanner uses will be updated to an @utexas.edu address, reflecting the printer's location. The process of scanning a document to email at a printer and your printer's address book are not changing.

When

This migration is scheduled to take place on the mornings of Monday, August 7th and Tuesday, August 8th.

What do I need to do?

There is no action necessary on the part of faculty or staff for this migration.

The update to your printer's settings will be done remotely and will be silent. This will not require a restart of the printer. Computer Services staff may visit your printer to verify functionality after the update is made.

How do I get help?

Please contact Computer Services Tech Support if you experience issues scanning documents to email after Wednesday or Thursday.

Communication

On Thursday, August 3rd, the following email communication was sent to McCombs faculty and staff.

Computer Services will be pushing an update to McCombs printers with scan to email functionality on the mornings of Monday, August 7th and Tuesday, August 8th. This update will not require a printer restart or any action on your part.
