Planning and Prepping

Teaching Assistants are paid for 26 hours a week and this includes planning time on the days you aren't in Lunch Bunch

Cleaning and Sanitizing

  • Handwashing (ALL children in your room need to pull paper towels first or last but it should be consistent)
  • Table washing
    • Must use new paper towel for every table 
    • Adriana Threetand Erin will figure out ratios for spray bottles and soap dispensers
    • @Amy will contact UT about composting paper towels

  • continuing study from spring with parents
  • times will be at the beginning or end of day + evenings and weekends

2nd study will start soon related to family-style meals and snacks

Snack will go back to family-style for camp

  • 1 adult per table, encourage children to serve themselves in the suggested portion sizes
  • Water pitchers and small cups for water
  • Model appropriate serving, eating, and conversation
  • Talk to children in neutral ways about how food can be prepared, including temperature, textures, scents, colors, etc rather than talking about foods being good/bad or favorites/disliked foods
  • Family Dinner Project has conversation starters
