Guidelines for GRA Employment
- The student must be currently enrolled as a graduate student in the iSchool. The student must be in good academic standing and be making satisfactory process towards an advanced degree (masters degree or above).
- The student must be registered for at least 9 hours during the long sessions and 3 hours for the summer session.
- GRA appointments may not be for more than 20 hours per week.
- Appointments are monthly (not hourly) and extend through a per-semester basis (not a 12-month basis).
- Research performed must be directly related to the student's degree program and be performed under the supervision of a faculty member or director of a research unit.
GRA Benefits

- eligible for insurance coverage (i.e. medical, dental)
- not eligible for sick or vacation pay/time
- GRAs are not required to fill out timesheets, but supervisors must oversee their hours worked.
- eligible for tuition benefits (exemption from non-resident tuition)

- if the graduate student has already been billed at the non-resident rate, they will receive a refund for the difference
