Welcome to the Multilingual Aphasia and Dementia Laboratory!
We are delighted to have you join our team as an undergraduate research assistant. In our lab, we are dedicated to investigating and understanding the effects of aphasia and dementia in bilingual and multilingual individuals. Your role is crucial in advancing our knowledge and contributing to studies that can significantly impact many lives.
Please go through each tab. You may find that some steps are not applicable to you. Make sure to follow the steps in order, and check off each action item highlighted in yellow before moving on to the next step.

Estamos encantados de que te unas a nuestro equipo como asistente de investigación de pregrado. En nuestro laboratorio, nos dedicamos a investigar y comprender mejor los efectos de la afasia y la demencia en personas bilingües y multilingües. Access to certain UT websites requires an EID (Electronic Identifier). To ensure you have everything you need to begin your volunteer journey with us, please follow the steps below to obtain your UT EID.
Step 1: Obtain your UT EID
Visit the following link to create your UT EID: https://idmanager.its.utexas.edu/eid_self_help/?createEID
Follow the prompts to complete the registration process. This EID will enable us to provide you with access to the necessary resources and tools for your volunteer role.

Register for DUO:
Once you have your UT EID, install the Duo App on your phone from the Play Store or App Store. Visit the DUO setup page: http://utdirect.utexas.edu/apps/duo/register
Follow the instructions to set up DUO for two-factor authentication. This is an extra layer of security for accessing UT websites.
To pair a device with Duo, please follow these instructions on any computer:
Note: If you are an international student, there may be a delay in adding your to our systems. Proceed to the next step (IRB Requirements) in the meantime.

CITI Human Subjects research training and GCP- Social and Behavioral Research Best Practices for Clinical Research
This is really important because without it we cannot grant you access to any patient information. This does need to be completed before your start date or on the first day of your shift.
Please see the instructions on the following link to continue with the CITI Program Human Subjects course and the GCP- Social and Behavioral Research Best Practices for Clinical Research course. Please complete the course and send the certificate back to us at your earliest convenience, but no later than one week from receiving this web link.
We understand that navigating the registration and completion process for the CITI Human Subjects course may be unfamiliar. That's why we have prepared a video in Spanish to guide you through the process.
IMPORTANT NOTE: You may see the option GCP for Clinical Trials with Investigational Drugs and Medical Devices, but do not select that one, as it is not as relevant to you and may not be valid.

Entendemos que navegar por el proceso de registro y finalización del curso de Sujetos Humanos CITI puede resultar desconocido. Por eso hemos preparado un video en español para guiarlo/a en el proceso.
NOTA IMPORTANTE: Es posible que vea la opción GCP for Clinical Trials with Investigational Drugs and Medical Devices, pero no seleccione esa opción, ya que no es tan relevante para usted y puede no ser válida.
