Send Email as an Alias

Overview

By default, email you send from your Microsoft 365 account comes from your primary address. If you need to send as a secondary address (a.k.a. alias) instead, please read on.

Outlook on the web

  1. Log into Outlook on the web.

  2. Click the Settings icon in the upper right corner and select Mail, then Compose and reply (alternatively, simply navigate to https://outlook.office.com/mail/options/mail/messageContent).

  3. Under Message format, ensure that Always show From is checked.

  4. Under Addresses to send from, check the aliases that you'd like to be able to send from.

  5. Close the settings menu

After changing these settings, when composing a message you’ll be able to select a different address in the From: dropdown.
