Introduction:
Pouring beer into a glass is a surprisingly delicate and complex task that requires careful balancing of many factors. Bartenders and brewmasters alike have various notions of a "proper pour", but what is universally important is a low foam-to-beer ratio that arises from a quick efficient pour following a distinct angular velocity profile. The naive solution of dumping a bottle of beer into a glass will cause the drink to vigorously foam up, and lead to very little liquid in the cup; this is what a standard pouring mechanism would result in. To overcome this challenge, we design a linear cam that mimics a bartender's expert pour.
Project Goals:
Consistently pour beer without spillage of drink
Entire bottle should be emptied in one pour
Pour should result in minimal foam
Pour motion should be smooth all the way through.
Bottlecap should be opened
