To view your Invoice history, you must log into Patron Portal and navigate to the Billing tab on the left-hand side. There are two subsections: Open Invoices lists the invoices that haven't been submitted to WIO and History lists the invoices that have been sent to WIO and have the status of "Journaled." This tool is used to view the charge types listed below for transparency only. Payments and credits aren't processed through the Patron Portal, they are processed via WIO.

Charge Types & Subtypes

Late Fine

• These invoices are automatically generated

• The fines are calculated per half-hour and are rounded up to the nearest half-hour

• These charges are not taxed

• The WIO Description for these charges is SOA TECH LAB FINES

Other

There are three subtypes for charges marked as “Other.”

Late Fees | Items

• These invoices are manually created for the $5.00 base charge for returning items late

• These charges are not taxed

• The WIO Description for these charges is SOA TECH LAB FINES

Late Fees | LC

• These invoices are manually created for the no-show and late cancellation Reservation charge corresponding to the length of the Reservation

• These charges are not taxed

• The WIO Description for these charges is SOA TECH LAB FINES

3D Prints

• These invoices are manually created for the total filament cost of your 3D print

• The line item Descriptions will list the Group name for the 3D print job

• These charges are taxed (8.25%)

  • The tax charged will be visible in WIO, not on Patron Portal

• The WIO Descriptions for these charges are SOA TECH LAB SALES and SOA TECH LAB SALES TAX

Supplies

• These invoices are manually created for the total cost of the supplies listed on Items for Sale

• The line item Descriptions will list each supply sold, such as CNC bits, foam, etc.

• These charges are taxed (8.25%)

  • The tax charged will be visible in WIO, not on Patron Portal

• The WIO Descriptions for these charges are SOA TECH LAB SALES and SOA TECH LAB SALES TAX

Usage Fee

These are for the Digital Fabrication Subscription

• These invoices are manually created for the semester charge

• The line item Description will say Digital Fabrication Subscription or DFS and the current semester

  • Example: DFS | Spring 2026

• These charges are not taxed

• The WIO Description for these charges is SOA FABRICATION SERVICES

How to View Your Invoices

1. Click on the Invoice Number to view details

2. In the detailed view, you can Export the Invoice to PDF and see the specific information about the Charges. We don't use the Credits section.
