ECE-IT No longer offering printing

As of 6/1/22, ECE-IT doesn't offer large-format printing services. Please use one of the options below for your poster printing needs.

HELPFUL INFO:

LaTeX poster template created by Ian Roberts.

For WNCG center events (such as Student Research Showcase and 6G@UT Forum)

  • The foam boards to which your posters will be clipped are 30 inches x 40 inches.

  • WNCG director's funds will cover the cost (using options 1 and 2 below). Contact staff for more info.

    • IF YOUR POSTER IS NOT FOR SRS OR FORUM:

      • CONFIRM WITH YOUR ADVISOR THAT THEY WILL COVER THE COST

      • Send confirmation to WNCG Staff

      • THEN WNCG Staff can provide an appropriate number

  • Pro-tip: Add a QR code to your poster that leads to more information about your research.

  • We use the poster session sign-up sheets to create the presenter list sent to attendees. The titles on this list follow APA - see capitalization guidelines here:

    • Here are directions for implementing sentence case in APA Style in these two contexts:

      1. Capitalize the first word of the title/heading and of any subtitle/subheading;

      2. Capitalize any proper nouns and certain other types of words; and

      3. Use lowercase for everything else.

OPTION ONE: PCL COPY SERVICES

** LIBRARY POSTER SHOP PERMANENTLY CLOSED SPRING 2024 **

You can request large format poster printing from the Library Copier Services in the Perry-Castañeda Library (1F). The PCL can print your poster within 1-2 business days.

Speak to your faculty advisor/WNCG Staff beforehand to get an account number in order to pay for the print.

Find more information on using the PCL to print a poster here: https://www.lib.utexas.edu/study-spaces-technology/print-copy-scan/large-format-printing

OPTION TWO: UT DOCUMENT SOLUTIONS

UT Document Solutions is the University Campus Services print/copy vendor. You can order a poster print by emailing your file to Document Solutions and picking it up at

Speak to your faculty advisor/WNCG Staff prior to payment to get an account number in order to pay for the print.

Turnaround time depends on the project - Document Solutions will let you know if your requested due date can be met. Please plan in advance to coordinate with Document Solutions as soon as possible to ensure your poster can be printed by your due date.

Find more information on using UT Document Solutions to print a poster here: https://documentsolutions.utexas.edu/printing/small-large-press

OPTION THREE: PAY OUT OF POCKET (ONLY IF PART OF TRAVEL)*

Please note: DISCUSS THIS WITH WNCG STAFF PRIOR TO making these arrangements. This expense is NOT REIMBURSABLE, unless the poster printing is directly related to an upcoming business trip for which you have an approved RTA on file! If that’s the case, please still speak with WNCG staff first.

This should be your very last option! For all other poster-printing needs, please use either ECE-IT or PCL Copy Services as instructed above.

Many printing services such as FedEx offer large-format printing.

  • If you use a vendor in Texas to print your poster, you cannot get Texas sales tax reimbursed.

Again, unless it’s part of an approved business trip, you WILL NOT be reimbursed for paying for poster printing out of pocket! Please discuss with WNCG Staff first!

Please note: The information here is summarized for your convenience. Though we attempt to keep it updated, University policies are complex and ever-changing. We must defer to current policies if they differ from what is written in this guide. There may also be other requirements for various processes not listed here.
