Adding a profile to the Alumni Profiles page

  1. Create two images for each alum. One sized at 180 x 180px; the other size will be larger and either float left of the article, float right, or span the width of the article. Size accordingly.
  2. Using the Media Manager upload the two images to the stories -> alumni folder.
  3. Create a new article with the alum's name as the title.
  4. From the Category drop down menu on the right, choose Alumni Profiles.
  5. In the editor window, enter the degree information on the first line, hit return and enter the job title.
  6. Highlight the degree only and choose Div from the Format menu.
  7. Highlight the job title only and choose Paragraph from the Format menu.
  8. Below the job title, add a Read More (click on Read More button below editor window).
  9. Enter the article text below the Read More. Any questions should be labeled as Heading 3 from the Format drop down menu. Any answers should be Paragraphs.
  10. When finished adding the content, click on the Images and links tab.
  11. In the Intro Image section, select the small thumbnail version of the alum's photo. Add Alt Text (ex: photo of Jane Doe). This image will appear on the landing page for Alumni Profiles.
  12. In the Full Article Image section, select the larger version of the alum's photo. Add Alt Text. This image will appear in the article view.
    1. To float the image to the left of the article, choose Left from the Image Float drop down. If it should float right, choose Right from the drop down.
    2. For the image to span the width of the article, choose None.
    3. If the image has a caption, enter it in the Caption field. Image must be full width to be captioned.
  13. Click on the Options tab. Change Show Intro Text to Hide.
  14. Preview your article to see that everything is correct. Ignore the horizontal line, degree and job title as these will not show up on the live site.
  15. Save and close the article.
  16. Use the Search Tools to sort by Category - Alumni Profiles. Change the ordering to Ordering ascending.
  17. Drag and drop the new article to its proper alphabetical placement.
  18. Make sure to unpublish any articles in this category that should no longer be visible on the site.
