Shed Clean Up


Clean up instructions (every single time you use the space!)

your goal is to leave NO DRY CLAY OR DRY CLAY RESIDUE. Clay dust is extremely toxic for lungs


use the hose outside the shed for cleaning.

wipe all surfaces (including canvas-covered table) etc with a wet sponge or cloth until there is no clay left

2wipe down entire wheel and put stool on top of wheel

label and clean all buckets, tools, sponges

  • put away and label all buckets of discard clay with your name & clay type & cone. put all buckets under the tables or they will be disposed of 
  • leave out no dry clay unless you are beginning a slip or reclaim process - if you are leaving out a bucket, cover clay with water. you can bring the hose into the shed to do this.

3put away your tools and supplies

clean out, hose down, and store splash pans

cover and label all ceramic projects

6wipe down slab roller and other specialty equipment if used

mop the floor (get a mop from sculpture tech if you don’t see one)


7make sure reclaim and wedging station are clean

8turn AC to 78 degrees, lights off, lock door
