How to access/map shared network folders
**You must be on the UT network (wired or wireless) or connected to the UT VPN if off campus to access/map folders on the UT Austin network.**
Mapping a folder to a persistent drive
Open Windows File Explorer by clicking on the folder icon on the taskbar or right-click the Windows Start icon and select "File Explorer".
In the File Explorer window select "This PC" on the left-hand side and then click the Computer tab and select Map Network Drive.
In In the "Map Network Drive" dialog box:
Select any drive letter that you want the folder mapped to (Windows defaults to Z, but you can select any letter in the drop down box).
Enter the folder path.
a. To access the Maynard Lab Beacon instrument data storage, enter: \\10.157.132.90\dataTo make the drive persistent so that it is always mapped, check "Reconnect at sign-in" to reconnect when you login.
Select "Connect using different credentials."
Select “More choices” then “Use a different account”
Enter your credentials that were sent to you via the welcome email. If you do not know your credentials, contact jason@che.utexas.edu and mbatina@che.utexas.edu.
If you are connecting from a UT-managed computer you must precede your username with a “.\”, like this:
Press Finish and the folder should open.
To verify the folder is mapped properly, go back to File Explorer and select "This PC" and you should see the mapped drive listed under the C: drive.
