Cooperating Teacher Initial Mentor Training

This asynchronous online training is offered to cooperating teachers and field supervisors working with student teachers and teacher residents from The University of Texas at Austin. It follows our Coaching with Care framework, which focuses on reflective practice, teacher development, and student feedback.

State requirements:
Texas requires cooperating teachers to complete mentor training for each new student teacher or resident placement. This training must be completed within 12 weeks before, or no later than 2 weeks after, the placement begins.

Training details:

• Most participants finish in 90 minutes or less.

• Some sections include short reflective assessments.

• To receive credit, all reflective questions must be completed.
