Access and Configure Adobe Creative Cloud Apps

Access and Configure Adobe Creative Cloud Apps

First time login

Adobe Creative Cloud or Acrobat Pro subscriptions require a login for access. After you receive confirmation from the LAITS team that a license has been assigned, an email from Adobe with a first time login link will be sent to the address on file.

You may be asked to verify your identity and setup some basic profile information. When that is complete, make sure you are fully signed into your Adobe for Teams plan by clicking on the Account icon in the upper right corner of the Adobe.com dashboard. If you see ‘Personal' or 'Adobe Creative Cloud Free Membership’ please select the Switch Profile option and select the organization that corresponds to your team (UT Austin - LAITS for our COLA users).

App installation

After confirming you are logged into your Adobe for Teams account, click on the Apps icon on the lefthand menu bar to view the applications you have access to as part of your subscription.

To install an individual Creative Cloud application, click the download button next to the app you want to install. The Adobe Creative Cloud desktop application will be concurrently installed alongside your app to manage updates and installation of other Adobe products.

Set automatic update behavior

Most Adobe apps are released on a yearly basis with many minor updates between major releases. If you keep an active license for a number of years, you will want to make sure that Creative Cloud is set to remove old versions. To avoid disruption in network access or remediation appointments with our staff, all Adobe apps must be kept up to date. The easiest way to do this is to verify the automatic update settings within the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop application.

  1. Open the Creative Cloud desktop app

  2. On the lefthand menu, select Apps

  3. On the right side, click the three dots next to Installed Apps then select Manage auto-updates

Select Manage auto-updates
  1. Make sure the switch for Auto-update is checked on. Click Advanced options and make sure that Remove Older Versions is checked to keep only the latest versions installed.

Users are free to set their own update behavior but be aware that you are responsible for performing updates if you do not set them to apply automatically. LAITS critical update remediation appointments, network quarantine alerts, and departmental leadership notices will be used to address installations of Adobe products that are not updated in a timely manner.

Troubleshooting and Common Issues

No access to apps/seeing trial available instead of full versions

This is the most common issue we see that prevents users from accessing their apps. Be sure you are using your organizational profile when signing in. A personal Adobe profile is also created when your business account is provisioned which can add to the confusion. If you are changing accounts, be sure to fully sign out of the Creative Cloud desktop application after changing profiles and before signing back in at adobe.com.

Verify plan details and application access

If you have verified that you are signed in with your organizational profile but still do not have access to your applications, please sign in to adobe.com to view your plan details. If you have an active Creative Cloud subscription assigned to that profile you should see your plan details like this:

If you do not see any applications or see the following message, please contact LAITS so we can verify your license and account information.

Access ended and Not available error for installation and launch of Adobe Creative Cloud apps

This error usually happens when there has been a change to the license with the user logged into Creative Cloud. Try to log out and log back in to your Adobe account paying close attention to profile selection to see if that resolves the problem.

In some cases, you may receive this error if your department admin has requested the reassignment of the license. If you suspect this may be the case, please verify with your admin team. If there have been no license change requests from them, please contact LAITS so we can verify your information.
