Departmental scholarships are awarded by individual units within the College of Liberal Arts (COLA). These awards are managed at the department level, not by the Dean’s Office. • Ownership: Departmental scholarships are administered by the individual academic departments.

• Eligibility & Criteria: Each department sets its own requirements (e.g., GPA thresholds, major-specific awards, research or service commitments).

• Application Process: Students apply directly through their department or via LASSO if the department has posted opportunities there.

• Deadlines: Vary by department; faculty/staff should direct students to departmental contacts or websites for current information.

• Dean’s Office Role: The Dean’s Office does not manage or award departmental scholarships. Faculty/staff should redirect inquiries to the appropriate department.
