Institutional Guidelines for Personal Travel

Per 2024 TX Executive Order GA-48, any UT faculty, staff, or student planning a personal trip to any country listed on the U.S. Department of Commerce’s foreign adversaries list must complete pre- and post-travel forms, as well as comply with electronic device use and gift restrictions while in that country.

As of April 2026, the list of “adversary nations” includes:

• China (including Hong Kong and Macao)

• Iran

• Russia

• Cuba

• Venezuela

• North Korea
