TAP/SMEAR Guidelines

Create a SMEAR ticket to:

  • Order a new continuing resource (print, print + online, or online only)
  • Cancel a continuing resource
  • Order a new electronic database subscription
  • Modify the format or other details of an existing continuing resource order
  • Purchase an electronic resource with one-time funds
  • Request a one-time purchase that can’t be ordered through BEVO or GOBI
  • Start a license

Create a TAP ticket to:

  • Report problems accessing electronic resources, including subscribed databases, e-journals, and e-books
  • Report problems with Summon
  • Report EZ proxy or IP authentication problems
  • Report broken links, coverage errors, and other incorrect information in library search tools (360 Link, Summon, catalog, library website)
  • Request that an open access resource be added to 360 Link or the catalog
  • Request adds or changes to the Database in our Database A-Z on LibGuides
  • Bibliographic record and item record updates
  • Call number updates, call number not displaying
  • Withdrawals, last item to be withdrawn
  • Duplicate records, duplicate call numbers
  • Call number reclassification
  • Electronic resource linking (856 URL) problems
  • Record suppressions and deletions
  • CURRENT ISSUES message updates on serial records
