Web

The web assignment type in your grading scheme is typically used to create homework or practice assignments. It can also be used to create quizzes or exams; the method to add questions for these types is the same as the "Homework" option. These assignments can be printed, but the responses are submitted through our system for grading. Click here to view an example of this type of assignment.

Web based assignments will be indicated with a computer icon on your assignments page.

Additional Options

Show One Question at a Time (Slide view): creates a homework assignment with the look of a learning module. Students retain the option to view the assignment as a pdf.

Randomize question order: determines whether the questions will appear in the order you set, or be randomized for each student.

Optional Class Instructions: is any additional instructions you want to appear at the beginning of the assignment.

The method of adding questions to an assignment is the same for all assignment types and is explained here.

Once the assignment is ready for students to start working on, you must publish it to the class. This prevents further editing of the assignment, so make sure you mean it. This process is explained in depth here.

If you would like for just one or a few questions to be manually graded on an homework assignment,  you can do that! (Currently only available for homework assignments, not learning module types.)

The most common place to identify a single question will be manually graded is on the assignment page. Select the question you want to be manually graded and flip the 'manual grade' box at the top. The item indicated below is not (yet) manually graded, but checking the 'manual grade' box would make it so.
