  • Use an amber filter (an 85) when shooting tungsten balanced film outdoors

  • Use a blue filter (an 80a) when shooting daylight balanced film in a tungsten situation

  • 80a filter cuts two and two-thirds stops of light

  • 85 filter cuts only two-thirds of a stop
