Workday Timesheet Guide

Time entry is the process of adding, editing, removing, or otherwise managing time blocks in the Workday timesheet. This guidance is intended to ensure time is recorded accurately and on time.  Instructions, including step-by-step instructions on entering hours, submitting time, and making corrections if needed.

  1. Log into Workday

    1. Open your web browser and go to the Workday login page.

    2. Enter your username and password.

    3. Click Sign In.

  2. Open Your Timesheet

    1. Click Personal and go to My Time and Absence.

    2. Make sure the correct week is selected at the right side of the screen under Time Entry.

  3. Enter Hours Worked

    1. Click on the day you want to enter time for.

    2. Enter the number of hours worked.

    3. Select the appropriate Time Type (for example: Regular Hours or Hours Worked).

    4. Make sure to note your “In” and “Out” time

    5. Repeat this process for each day worked.

      • If time has already been entered for this week, you will see it on your calendar. It will note if the time has been submitted or not.

        • Click “OK”

        • Now you will see your recorded time on the calendar. It will be marked as “Not Submitted” until you “Review” in the bottom-right corner under “Summary” and submit your time for the pay period.

        • Step 4: Verify Submission

          1. Once you review and submit ensure the timesheet status shows Submitted or Awaiting Approval.

          2. Log out of Workday when finished.

Workday tip: You can check "In" or “Out” on your Home page as a shortcut when logging in time!
