NPL is a great opportunity for staff and volunteers to learn new skills, gain valuable experience, and contribute to something that is part of the rich history of paleontology in Texas. A days' work can have a person ranging through diverse tasks that involve every aspect of the collection - being out in the non climate-controlled collections warehouse, then back to the main lab for some time with the database, on to handling high-tech micro-photography equipment, and everything in between.
...and that is just before lunch!
This diversity is a great strength to our lab and it does require our staff and volunteers to have at least a brief familiarity with the many different aspects of working at NPL. Check out the lab's web site for a sampling of some of the things we do.
