Renaming a Space or Changing the Space Key
Once a space has been created, you may find that you need to change the name of your space or change the space key. It is possible to change both, however, please keep in mind that:
A space administrator can change their space’s name.
A space admin is usually someone on your team who can make changes to your space without a Confluence admin.
A Confluence administrator can change a space key.
Confluence admins are support staff from Enterprise Technology with access to make broad changes to the site.
The space name will appear in the left sidebar/within searches and the space key is visible in the URL of your space (for example: cloud.wikis.utexas.edu/wiki/spaces/spacekey).
Changing the space name
Within the space you wish to rename, click on the ellipses/menu option next to the space’s name in the left sidebar
Select “Space Settings” from the expanded menu
Select “Space Details” in the sidebar menu
Enter the new name in the name field
Select save at the bottom of the page
Changing the space key
To change the space key of your space, one of the space administrators can email wikihelp@utexas.edu or call the Enterprise Technology Support Center at 512-475-9400.
