Summary:
For humans, horizontal movement is easy. Humanoid robots have recently advanced to near-human-level flat land traversing capabilities. But by comparison, humans are significantly limited in vertical mobility. Humanoid robots have an opportunity to advance far beyond human capabilities in vertical mobility in the near future. To help make this a reality, we have developed an autonomous jumping robot that jumps, lands and repeats with no human intervention.
