Device Reassignment Requests

This page will detail the process for creating new device reassignment requests (REQ) tickets within ServiceNow. These REQs spawn Request Items (RITMs) which are the parent ticket used to automate the workflow and manage the state of a device deployment.

Any LAITS staff that collects hardware that should be added to the available computers list making it re-assignable can create new deployment requests.

Creating New Deployment Requests

From ServiceNow Search

  1. In the upper-right corner of the ServiceNow homepage, click the magnifying glass icon
  2. Type "LAITS Device Reassignment Request" and submit
  3. Scroll down to the "Knowledge & Catalog" section or click "Catalog Items" under the "Knowledge & Catalog" heading in the right navbar
  4. Select "LAITS Device Reassignment Request" from the results

    Add to Favorites

    You may also click-and-drag the "LAITS Device Reassignment Request" option into your ServiceNow sidebar to favorite it for easier access in the future

  5. Fill out the request form as detailed here
  6. Click "Order Now" to submit the completed form

From ServiceNow Navigator

  1. In the navigator sidebar, find the "Service Catalog" category and click to expand it, if it is not already expanded
  2. Select "Catalog" from the "Service Catalog" options
  3. Select "Desktop and Mobile Computing"
  4. Select "Desktop and Mobile Device Support"
  5. Select "LAITS Device Reassignment Request"

    You may also click-and-drag the "LAITS Device Reassignment Request" option into your ServiceNow sidebar to favorite it for easier access in the future.
  6. Fill out the request form as detailed here
  7. Click "Order Now" to submit the completed form
