Records Outside our Geographic Scope

Though many institutions provided records from outside our geographic scope and we retain them in the database, only records within our scope were fully processed. As a result, users may find records from outside of our scope, many of them are not mapped because they have not been assigned coordinates and so lack data for categorical variables (derived through GIS for other records), may have non-standard species names, etc. These records, however, may have benefited from some processes, such as normalization of collector names, etc. These records are best found via our "Verbatim field Contains" query option on our Data tab.
