What to Know

Policy

As a library, we have a moral and legal obligation to serve people with differing abilities well. Our policy statement expresses our commitment to providing access to our collections and services in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Our policy is to provide, whenever possible, arrangements that enable library users with differing abilities to work independently.

Federal Laws

Services We Provide

We provide services that ensure UT Libraries materials are accessible to all users regardless of ability. You can let users know about the following services that can assist users with differing abilities. Some of these are simply services we provide for everyone, but may be especially beneficial to users with differing abilities.

Accessible Spaces at UT Libraries

Assistive Technologies at UT Libraries

For training on any assistive technology, refer users to Services for Students with Disabilities.

Service Animals

Service animals are allowed in UT Libraries. Services animals should be marked as service animals, however, as employees, we are not allowed to ask if an animal is a service animal or not. If you receive questions or have a question about an animal in the library, ask a supervisor.
