Getting Started with Imaging Projects

If you are a New Investigator interested in using BIC’s resources or a Current Investigator embarking on a New Project*, please contact the Director to arrange a consultation to discuss your research project or program.

* New Projects include:

- any research study which involves a new or updated funding source (including grant extensions)

- a study that requires a new or updated IRB or IACUC Protocol (excluding personnel updates)

- a study that involves the development of a new scan protocol, or will have > 10 sessions

After the initial consultation, access to BIC’s resources and instrumentation can be initiated by submitting the BIC Research Project Resource Assessment.

Note that the Resource Assessment form requires the submission of all relevant project information, including:

- any necessary licensing or documentation (e.g. IRB or IACUC approval)

- source of funding

- listing all resources for which access is being requested

- listing proposed study personnel

Information about Personnel Training requirements can be found on the Training page of the BIC Wiki.

The Resource Request will be reviewed by BIC staff and may be referred for ancillary review by the BIC Advisory Committee.

Research may not commence until the project has been issued with a Letter of Approval by the BIC Director.
