How To Download VR3 Weldment Profiles to SolidWorks

1. Download Weldments:

Download custom VR3 weldment profiles using this link, and save them somewhere you can easily find them:

1. Add ‘Weldments’ to your main feature tabs

Open a SolidWorks part document and add a ‘weldments’ button to the main feature tabs by right-clicking on one of the main top gray buttons->tabs-> weldments to add the weldment feature to the gray tabs

1. Add VR3 Weldments folder to SolidWorks

Go to the little gear button on the top and under ‘System Options’, the left click ‘File Locations’, click the “Show folders for” dropdown and click “Weldment Profiles” click Add… and find the VR3 Weldments folder

1. Make sure it works

Select a plane and start a sketch

Draw a line

Finish the sketch

Click the ‘Weldments’ tab on the top->Click ‘Structural Member’

Open

In the Standard Dropdown, select ‘VR3 Weldments’. You can then click the dropdowns to specify tube type and tube profiles (size)

Finally, click the line and finish the feature by clicking the check mark
