Find date and time log of REDCap surveys

There are 2 ways to find the date and time of completion of REDCap surveys. It's best to use both and compare the dates to each other to make sure they match. However, in order to have a date of completion, the REDCap survey has to have the status of completed survey response. To check, the status of the survey, go to Add/Edit Records, and choose whichever record you are interested in viewing. The legend shows that to be a completed survey response it has to be green with a checkmark. You have to see this status on the survey in order to see the date of completion.

The first way to see the date and time of completion is to go to Data Exports, Reports, and Stats. You can either view report of all data or make a custom report. The custom report is easier to navigate as you can limit the report to one instrument. The downside of this method is that you can’t make a custom report by the participant, so you will see the data of all participants for one instrument, which still can be a lot to navigate. Select whichever instrument and event you want to see.

After making a data report, you want to find the column titled as Survey Timestamp. Under this column, you will find the timestamp that the participant submitted the survey. Notice in the image that some of the surveys do not show a timestamp. This is because these surveys do not have the status of completed survey response.

The second way of viewing the timestamp is to go to Add/Edit Records. Select whichever record you are interested in viewing. Select whichever instrument and event you are interested in, but make sure that it has the green with checkmark status. After selecting the desired survey, at the top you will see a green box that shows the time and date the survey was started and completed.
