Matterport - Capturing Exhibitions

SOA uses the Matterport Pro2 to capture interior spaces and the built environment. This page is dedicated to the workflow used to capture exhibitions in our Mebane Gallery. Post editing of the model can be done by TRIG or the Exhibitions Committee. The Pro2 is a infrared camera offers quality, speed, and value. Built to last all day with an 8-hour battery life. Pro2 uses infrared to gather depth data, which doesn't perform well in direct sunlight. Even on cloudy days, sunlight has a substantial amount of infrared light that can interfere with the way the Pro2 camera senses depth. Scanning in or new sunlight can cause alignment issues and holes in the dollhouse and floor plan views.
