Getting a user account

Access to UTL DAMS is restricted to University of Texas Libraries staff.

  1. Log in to the DAMS Production system at https://dams.lib.utexas.edu and to the DAMS Test system at https://dams-t01.lib.utexas.edu with your EID and password.
    Upon your first login, a user account will be automatically created in each system, which initially has no access permissions.
    You will see the following message after completing the initial login:

    The DAMS management team or Collection Supervisors do NOT get a notification about new accounts created on first login. Make sure to follow step 2 in order to get access permissions.

  2. Determine which tasks you want to perform in the DAMS and which level of access you need for that:

LLILAS Benson Digital Collections

The Nettie Lee Benson Latin American Collection is a specialized research library focusing on materials from and about Latin America, and materials relating to Latin@ Studies. This repository contains digitized and born digital materials from the Collection.

Map Collections

The Perry-Castañeda Library Map Collection is a general collection of more than 250,000 maps covering all areas of the world. Many of the maps are included in the Library Catalog. 70,000 map images from our collection are also available in digital format.

Global Studies Collections

The University of Texas Libraries’ Global Studies Collections encompass resources both from and about all regions of the world outside of the United States. Over 350 languages are represented in the UTL Global Studies collections and all formats are included. Individual subsets of the UTL Global Studies Collections vary in their respective breadth and depth but all share a commonality of scholarly approach that is predicated on the geographic, linguistic and interdisciplinary orientation of knowledge that “area studies” encompasses.
