Paloma

  • Greetings and introductions (as needed)

  • Review the agenda

  • Action items from January meeting - 2025-01-22

  • Announcements

    • Hannah has provided suggested updates for our Resources page here on the wiki, to make it more approachable for follks new to Linked Data and help with connections between Linked Data and AI. Review/publish of updates is pending.

    • Irene Sibi (FWS at HRC) is planning a user study of the author cards in Primo. Timeline for the study is throughout March. Potential to invite her as speaker for the April meeting to share her findings. Findings may be very helpful to UTL Discovery Services Advisory Group’s efforts to bring this feature to production deployment.

    • Katie has been working on preparing data for ingest into ArchivesSpace, a system that does have internal linked data as relationships between different data points. Whether those linkages can be leveraged outside the system is tbd - this video may explain.

      • Discussion of distinction b/t LD and LOD, we could add some language on our wiki about this, emphasizing our group is focused on LOD, leveraging what is already published & open.

    • The Other Interface shared by Katie as a LOD platform she learned about at recent conference - a well-resourced and staffed project that incorporates Wikidata, good example of LOD in action, to add to Resources page.

    • Question: if there is no Wikidata, only LCNAF data, does the card and page still appear?

Brainstorm Ideas & Goals for 2025

all

  • Melanie raised the idea of changing up the cadence or frequency of this group’s meetings, managing expectations and making sure that it is worth everyone’s time.

  • Based on input in brainstorm doc linked below, in a nutshell: members interested in laid-back info sharing & gathering space/group, with folks taking point on topics of interest, and continuing our focus on Alma/Primo LOD features.

  • Speaker idea - Someone with Primo Author Card/Person Entity in Production

  • Exploration of downside/pitfalls of LOD implementations?

  • Group brainstorm

    • What are folks most interested to get out of this group this year?

    • What do folks want to continue working on or shift focus to this year?

    • Specific projects or goals you want to work on?
