Transfer Credit
Course Requirements
Please see below information of transferring credit.

A maximum of six semester hours of coursework may be transferred.
The grade must be either A or B.
The course must be graduate level. Undergraduate courses taken during the undergraduate degree cannot be counted toward the graduate degree, and cannot be transferred.
Courses may not have been used toward another degree.
Courses older than 6 yrs may not be transferred.
Courses may not be taken at another institution during the semester of intended graduation at UT Austin.
Submitting Information
Below information should be submitted to the Graduate Coordinator as a single packet:
Complete the Petition to Transfer a Graduate Course From Another Institution form - https://gradschool.utexas.edu/academics/policies/transfer-credit
Include signature from UT faculty teaching the equivalent course to confirm transfer beside course.
The Graduate Coordinator can help obtain the Graduate Advisor's signature.
Provide an official transcript
Official explanation of course numbering system/grading system
Course description/Syllabi from the catalog of the institution
Provide the Graduate Coordinator (Kathy McWilliams) the completed packet to be sent to the Graduate School (MAI 101) for processing and approval.
Note: If approved, the course(s) will not appear on your UT transcript or student record. An email with an attached copy of the approved form will be sent by the Graduate School. Students should keep this form in their records to provide upon their graduating semester to include in the Program of Work.
