COE Staff Excellence Awards
About the awards:
The College of Education awards three staff excellence and one leadership excellence award every year. Awardees are recognized by the Dean at the COE Faculty and Staff Awards Ceremony at the end of the Spring semester.
The Staff Excellence Award and Leadership Excellence Awards are only open to College of Education staff and include $1500 (subject to payroll tax) and a Certificate of Excellence. Nominations open in January and may be submitted by any COE faculty member or staff member in a non-student title.
Eligibility and Selection Committee:
Nominees must have been employed in the College of Education for at least 12 months in a Classified or A&P title for 20 hours per week or more and must be in good standing. Faculty, TAs, Ais, and students who are employed in positions that require student status as a condition of employment are not eligible for these awards. Nominees for the leadership excellence award must also hold a supervisor role with at least one non-student direct report, and direct or lead a unit. The nominee should possess leadership qualities such as relationship-building, mentoring and developing others, and inspire others to want to become a leader.
Former award winners are eligible for re-nomination after five years.
Nominations will be evaluated by a diverse committee in consideration of the following merits:
Impact on the college/university
Demonstration of a high level of collaboration, cooperation, and communication
Consistent performance at a level above normal job requirements
