Location & Parking
Workshop Location
The workshop will be held in the the Peter O'Donnell, Jr, building (POB, formerly the ACES building), room 2.402.
POB is located on the southeastern corner of the intersection of 24th and Speedway, and appears at the top left of Area 5 on the map below (the horizontal black line along the top of Areas 5 and 2 is 24th Street).
Click on this map for an interactive/zoomable version.
Please note that, for drop-offs/pick-ups, 24th street is blocked off between Whitis and Speedway (the direction of MoPac/Guadalupe) during weekday business hours (8-5), and that Speedway no longer connects to Dean Keeton/26th Street. All traffic heading to the POB building must approach on 24th street via San Jacinto Street.
Parking
Parking for workshop participants will be in the San Jacinto Garage, located at 2401 San Jacinto Street, and will require the use of a swipe card that will be distributed on the first day of the workshop. (Take a pull-ticket on entering the garage the first day; you will use the swipe card to exit, and then for both entry and exit each subsequent day).
From the garage, exit on the San Jacinto Street side, and turn right onto 24th Street (24th street dead ends at San Jacinto, immediately past the guard house and by the statue/hill up to the Texas Memorial Museum). The POB building is one block up on the left (the next intersection, do not cross Speedway).
If you require close-in parking and are in possession of a valid Texas handicapped parking permit, please let us know ASAP. The University has a separate permit for campus "D" spaces-- a temporary permit can be issued to valid state permit holders, but we will need to start the process in advance. Please do not park in a UT "D" space without pre-clearance as you will be ticketed even if you have a state-issued handicapped plate or tag!
