Day 1: Question Writing

Activity for the day:  Teachers picked one of the World History TEKs and deconstructed them to create focused questions from the TEK.  Teachers then brainstormed what documents might be needed to help answer the questions.

Day 2: Creating Document Activities

Activity for the day:  Teachers recieved a copy of a document set about the Mongols.  Teachers had three tasks: 

1. write a question from the associated TEKs for students to focus on

2. pick the top 4 to 5 documents they wanted to focus on

3. create an activity that could be used in their classroom using the document set.

Day 3: Working with Documents

Activity for the day:  Teachers will receive a copy of Nehru's "Tryst with Destiny" speech and practice cutting down a long document into manageable chunks. Teachers will then take various document analysis sheets and modify them for use in their classroom.

Activity for the day:  Teachers will receive a document packet of sources about the Ottoman Empire.  Teachers will create two activities with edited documents for use in their classroom.
