How to Install GLT Canon Printers - Windows
Please follow the steps below to install the printers using the Mechanical Engineering print server.
**You must be on the UT network (wired or wireless) or connected to the UT VPN if off campus to add this printer and print to it.**
The GLT printers are locked down using individually assigned ID and PIN. Do not share your ID and PIN with anyone else. Print usage is tracked per individual.
If you have not been given an ID and PIN, please submit a ticket to mech-it@austin.utexas.edu to request access to GLT printers.
1. Left-click the “Windows” (aka Start) icon at the bottom left of the screen and type in "Software" and select "Software Center"
2. Make sure you are viewing the Applications section (left side) and find the two available GLT printer installations. Select the desired printer.
3. You will see the next window where you can click Install.
4. The printer will install and you will see a greyed-out "Uninstall" button when finished.
5. Once the installation completes, verify the printers were installed by going to Start and typing "Printers" and then selecting "Printers & scanners"
6. In the Printers & Scanners window you should see the printers installed as ME-GLT-Floor-2-Canon and ME-GLT-Floor-3-Canon. See step 7 to add your ID/PIN at this point.
