Separating Sounds
An auditory object is a sound that can be distinguished from other sounds, such as 2 different actors' voices. All the different sound tracks are physically combined in production, so it is up to the ears to separate them all. However, since it is more subtle than visual objects it can allow filmmakers to manipulate audience emotions in a less obvious way.
