Professionalism
Art Education students must demonstrate high standards of professionalism and accountability in all field experiences and coursework. These standards include, but are not limited to:
- Participate in professional organizations and conferences (Texas Art Education Association, National Art Education Association)
- Dress and look like a professional educator
- Engage in what is going on around you and in class
- Be prepared for class and participate in discussions
- Arrive early and stay late for class and field experiences
- Pick up/clean up the space around you and common areas
- Do not gossip about teachers and students-verbally or on social media
- Honor the chain of command
- Share your innovative ideas with others
- Compliment others on their efforts and achievements
- Volunteer to help others
- Use proper English and avoid slang
- Avoid displays of negativity or sarcasm
- Inform people if you will be late or cannot participate
- Participate in judging VASE and/or other art contests
