Professionalism

Art Education students must demonstrate high standards of professionalism and accountability in all field experiences and coursework. These standards include, but are not limited to:

• Participate in professional organizations and conferences (Texas Art Education Association, National Art Education Association)

• Dress and look like a professional educator

• Engage in what is going on around you and in class

• Be prepared for class and participate in discussions

• Arrive early and stay late for class and field experiences

• Pick up/clean up the space around you and common areas

• Do not gossip about teachers and students-verbally or on social media

• Honor the chain of command

• Share your innovative ideas with others

• Compliment others on their efforts and achievements

• Volunteer to help others

• Use proper English and avoid slang

• Avoid displays of negativity or sarcasm

• Inform people if you will be late or cannot participate

• Participate in judging VASE and/or other art contests
