The Graduate Student Handbook for the GOV PhD program serves as an essential guide to the program’s expectations, requirements, and academic policies. It is reviewed and updated annually to ensure that all information reflects current departmental standards, Graduate School regulations, and procedural changes. The handbook provides students with a comprehensive reference on milestones, coursework, committee formation, examinations, and professional development expectations. Because policies and procedures evolve, students are encouraged to consult the newest edition each academic year and reach out with any questions about how specific policies apply to their individual academic trajectory.
